Blog - 09/10/15

Yes, things have been quiet! I've not given up, just progressing at a snail's pace!

This is just a quick post to inform you there should be some regular content on the horizon! A writer I follow on social media, Morgen Bailey,  has launched her own 'Micro Fiction' competition that runs monthly with a designated theme which is free to enter! I intend to use it as a writing exercise, therefore I'll be posting my pieces on a monthly basis after the results of the competition are announced!

It's a hard format to crack, but this time I was fortunate enough to win a place in the 'Highly Commended' list! The theme for this month was 'White', and you can read my entry 'Conception'  by clicking the link below!

As this was the inaugural month of the competition I won a free place on one of her online writing courses! The word limit is 100 words each month, so if you fancy a go I've put the link below! You can also read the winning entries!

I'll only update you via blog post if any of my pieces make a placing!

Until next time, buh-bye!

Flash Fiction / Micro Fiction
Length - 100 words

Written for the competition theme 'White'.
* Won a place on the 'Highly Commended' list!

I may not have happened yet, but I am not nothing. I live shackled in boundless white because you have not yet granted me any colour. A white of beginning, unlike black's end, that place where all has been explored to exhaustion. I could be the making of you, a streak of yellow that leads the way. Although equally, I won't lie, though I might, I could be your undoing, a sorrowful blue or ruinous red. I could fall somewhere in the middle, or be a mix of all three. I could be anything, if only you'd set me free.
